Music Alternatives is a synchronization agency & publishing company run by Scott Cresto. Cresto and his synch team have placed the music of their talented & diverse line up of artists in numerous films (The Fault In Our Stars, Love And Mercy, Downsizing, Dumb And Dumber To), television shows (The Blacklist, Vampire Diaries, Grey’s Anatomy, Parenthood, This Is Us), commercials (Bud Light, Ikea, Bonobos, Nutella), video games, trailers (Labor Day, The Judge, If I Stay), soundtracks (Twilight, Pretty Little Liars, Halt And Catch Fire) and special markets. Cresto and his Music Alternatives publishing department work with a variety of catalogs & artists (Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys, Other Lives, Sleeping At Last, Towers Of London, Scars on 45, Ru-Jac Records.)
Previously, Cresto was the Senior Vice President of Film & TV and A&R for Chrysalis Music Group USA where he ran the company’s synch department and oversaw all synchronization licensing activities. He was also involved in discovering and signing new talent, including Beach House, TV On The Radio, and Psapp.
Prior to joining Chrysalis, Scott served as Director of Film & Television at Warner/Chappell Music. His background also includes stints in the music department of Rysher Entertainment and in independent radio promotion.
Jessica Hobbs/Vice President, Licensing
A Los Angeles native, Jessica Hobbs graduated from the University of California at Berkeley. Moving back to Los Angeles after college, she initially worked at a film production company, The Forge, before moving into music publishing. For almost twenty years, Jessica has been a senior clearance and licensing executive working in multiple medias. Jessica served as Vice President, Synchronization Licensing at Chrysalis Music and she and her team were responsible for negotiating and licensing deal for TV, film, commercial, video game and new-media projects. Prior to heading the licensing department at Chrysalis, she worked at Warner/Chappell Music for 7 years.
Luke Hall/Director, Creative A&R
Luke Hall is a Portland, Oregon based singer/songwriter, audio engineer, producer, artist manager and music educator. Born in Nebraska and the son of an opera singer, he lived all over the world as a military brat before calling southern Oregon home in 1999. In 2009 he received a B.S. in Music Industry from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and worked in music publishing until 2013 when he returned to Oregon. While in LA he worked for S1 Songs, Chrysalis, Bug and BMG in Film/TV and A&R. His current musical projects include the solo venture Last Home and Kidd Bayou, a duo with singer/songwriter Joey Colando. He also works with Nature\\Nurture, a Portland-based management company, and My Voice Music, a nonprofit music education organization.
Evan Pegler/Manager, Creative
A native of Los Angeles, Evan gained interest in pursuing a career in the music industry shortly after he began learning to play guitar as an early teen and became enveloped in music. He decided to carry out this pursuit by earning a bachelor’s degree in Music Industry Studies from California State University, Northridge. As part of his studies, he began interning at Music Alternatives in the summer of 2014, and has since become a member of the creative team, holding a music coordinator position. When he isn’t working or spending evenings rehearsing and playing shows with his handful of musical projects, Evan enjoys delving into other sectors of the arts including photography, architecture, and graphic design.
Kelsey Stompro/Manager, Creative
Kelsey Stompro, originally from North Dakota, moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to pursue a career in the music industry. Previously, she’d been studying to become a nurse at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, before realizing her true passion was with music. Once in Los Angeles she attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, studying Music Business. Through her school program she began an internship with Music Alternatives in January of 2016, and has since joined the team as a creative coordinator.
