Sam Jordan & The Dead Buoys Have just finished recording they’re Debut E.P ‘When Golden Morning Comes’ . The record was made at Toe Rag Studios (The White Stripes, Madness and The Wytches) It was tracked, mixed and mastered using only Analogue equipment. All recording was 90% live. The Record is Published to Cooking Vinyl Publishing.

Sam Jordan was Born in Brighton the son of a carpenter. Sam spent his early life working for his dad’s Building Company before enrolling in the famous Trinity Laban Dance School in London.

It was during his time training as a dancer he decided he wanted to be a musician, when he was overheard singing at the piano by a renowned German choreographer. “You are heavy bodied, You should try being a singing character on a stage, not a dancer.” He Hasn’t forgiven her to this day.

After this realisation he spent a year back in the building game digging holes and drinking large cups of black tea. At the same time he started busking in the streets of Brighton. He was noticed by a smelly man posing as a promoter. The ‘the smelly man’ booked Sam for some great shows, an empty shop in Eastbourne, a Neon pub in Worthing, a sex club posing as an art gallery in Brighton. From this Sam worked his way up to venues with a license such as St Pancras Old Church, The Brighton Dome and Camden Dingwalls. He has recently supported Rhodes, Raleigh Richie, Luke Sital-Singh and The Mispers

He created his backing band ‘The Dead Boys’ at the beginning of 2015. It is made up of Asher Nwokedi who works with young offenders (Drums and Backing Vocals) Ez Stone who smokes roly’s (Electric Guitar and Backing Vocals) and James Buckham who speaks 5 languages

He is Currently working on more songs and a collaboration with Holly Macve a ‘country noir’ singer recently signed to Bella Union.

Sam is heavily influenced by Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, The Doors, Leadbelly, John Jacob niles, Alan Lomax, Charles Bukowski, George Orwell, Hofesh Shechter , Pina Bausch, Building (guttering and concreting foundations), Dogs, Getting on the bus with drunkards and the belief in Angels.
